Washing a Dish

While washing a dish may seem like a mindless task, it can actually serve as a reminder to practice mindfulness.  As you wash the dish bring your awareness to your five senses. What does the water sound like? Does the soap you're using have a scent? What does the sponge feel like in your hand?  How does the plate feel? What about the temperature of the water?  As always, thoughts are likely to arise.  When you notice a thought, simply bring your attention to one of your senses and explore what it's like to be here, in the present moment.
