Avoidance

It's natural for us to want to avoid the pain we're feeling.  Avoidance, however, often leads to even more discomfort. Today, take some time to get to know your pain.  Is it physical or emotional? What does it feel like?  Where is it located?  Explore the different sensations.  Instead of resisting the hurt, get curious about the feelings coming up for you.  As you experience the pain, respond to these feelings with understanding, kindness and compassion.
