Breathe

Take one hand and place it on your chest with the other placed on your belly. Notice how the hands raise with each inhale. Most people breathe into their chest so if you notice your chest raising or expanding that’s really common. Now, bring your focus to the hand on your belly. Picture a balloon in your belly and with each breath, try and expand the balloon while keeping your chest stable. It takes some practice for sure! By filling your belly with air instead of your chest, you are allowing more space for oxygen to enter into the blood. This is a deeper type of breathing that lowers your heart rate and blood pressure which can be really helpful when you’re feeling super stressed!
