Thoughts

Our thoughts are not necessarily reality.  We have over 50,000 thoughts a day and many are colored or distorted by past experiences, our stories, the media, and society.  As a result, our thoughts don't always accurately reflect what is happening.  Today, see if you can notice your thoughts as thoughts.  Watch as they show up and allow them to move on.  If a thought seems to catch hold and you find yourself in the experience of the thought, acknowledge that that's where you are, and that this may not be an accurate representation of reality. Show yourself some love and compassion.  Bring your awareness back to the breath. Notice what it's like to be breathing in your body, here and now.
