Make Room



When we come up against a problem, we often believe that we can think our way to a solution. Instead of coming up with a solution, however, we end up focusing on the problem or issue, and our thoughts build on one another, causing even more stress in the end.  Today, I invite you to make room for your thoughts and to approach each one with kindness and curiosity.  You can then label the thought and bring your awareness to your breath, noticing what it feels like to be breathing in your body. While it can be tempting to want to "work through" a situation in you mind, today is simply about noticing each thought and gently acknowledging it with kindness.  "Hmm that's an interesting thought.  I'll note that thought as worry."  or "This thought seems to be around planning.  I'll note this thought as future." Bring compassion to your thoughts and bring your awareness back to the breath, feeling your body breathe here, in this very moment.
