Thoughts

When we're immersed in our thoughts, it's hard to see them for what they are; thoughts.  Thoughts can be ideas, opinions, judgments, memories, worries and each is colored by a story, an experience, or our history. Instead of seeing these thoughts and allowing them to show up and float on, we begin to trust that they are facts; that these thoughts in our head are actual representations of reality. The truth is that these thoughts are not a representation of reality.  We don't have to let them take hold and control our actions, our choices and our lives. Today, notice as a thought arises and label it "thought." With this knowledge and understanding, we can watch as our thoughts show up and watch as they move along. Today, be the awareness that notices the thoughts and gently let each one go.
