A Word

One word can often be used to bring us into the present moment.  Choose a word that is neutral and find a space that is quiet.  Bring your attention to the word you chose and think the word over and over again.  As you think the word, other thoughts will likely come up.  When these thoughts arrive, see them for what they are: thoughts. Notice the thought and gently bring your focus back to the word.  If you stop thinking the word, that's okay too.  When you notice that you're lost in a thought and no longer thinking the word, be kind to yourself and start the process of thinking the word once again.
