Sit

When it comes to our emotions, fighting off the intensity can often make things worse.  And while avoiding the emotion may work for a little while, what we resist inevitably persists and it will show up again and again.  If an emotion shows up for you today and you are aware of the intensity, find a way to be alone with the emotion. Once you are alone, sit with the emotion and get curious. What are the physical sensations to this emotion?  How does it show up in your body?  Notice where in your body you feel it the most. Put your hand there and give yourself permission to feel whatever emotion is there and to feel it fully. When you are ready, connect with your breath, and bring your awareness to the present moment.
